Frequently Asked Questions
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. We offer sample swatches showing colour and finish — perfect for matching to your existing project palette. Visit our Cape Town workshop by appointment, or contact us to arrange a sample to be sent. Sample fees may apply but are credited to your final order.
Do you offer installation?
We don't install directly, but we work with several recommended installers in major South African cities. We can connect you with a trusted installer in your area — just send us your project location.
Do you offer trade or project pricing?
Yes — for orders of 5+ panels or trade accounts, we offer tiered pricing. Email shop@tiltscreens.co.za with your project brief and we'll send a tailored quote.
What sizes are available? Can you do custom sizes?
Standard sizes range from 600×600mm modules up to 1900×950mm panels. We can custom-cut to any size up to 2400×1200mm — just send us your dimensions and we'll quote. Trade and architectural specs welcome.
Can you powder-coat to match a specific colour or RAL code?
Yes. We work with most standard RAL codes and can match many bespoke colours. Send us your colour reference (RAL code, Pantone, or sample) and we'll confirm match feasibility and pricing. Custom colours typically add 5-7 working days to the lead time.
Are your screens suitable for outdoor use?
Absolutely. Powder-coated aluminium is rated for permanent outdoor use — it won't rust, fade significantly, or degrade in UV. We recommend stainless steel fixings for coastal areas (within 10km of the coast) due to salt spray. All screens carry a 15-year warranty against material failure.
Why aluminium?
Aluminium is lightweight, strong, infinitely recyclable, and naturally rust-resistant — making it ideal for screens that need to look good for decades, indoors or out. Combined with powder coating, it gives you a finish that won't peel, chip, or fade in normal use. It's also far more sustainable than steel: every Tilt screen can eventually be melted and re-formed without losing material quality.
What is Aluminium Composite?
Aluminium Composite is a composite sheet comprising a skin of two aluminum sheets sandwiching a polyethylene / modified mineral core, produced in a continuous and integrated co-extrusion process. Aluminium Composite have varied uses, which range from exterior and interior signs to decorative uses.
Do your products rust?

How do I install?
Most products ship flat-packed for easy assembly with standard tools (drill, level, screwdriver). House-scale screens can be installed by a confident DIYer in 1-2 hours. Larger architectural installations typically need a tradesperson. Each order ships with installation guides specific to your panel type. Trade installers welcome — we can provide fixing schedules for project work.
What fixtures do I need?
Standard M6 or M8 nail in anchors will do the job. For a more heavy duty approach you can opt for M6 or M8 coach screws and plugs. If you based in costal areas we recommend using stainless steel fixings.
